Obituary of Roger G. Bernier

Roger George Bernier, 70, died peacefully on May 21, 2011 at home after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 8, 1941 in Brunswick, Maine where he spent his childhood years through college. His career with AT&T Long Lines spanned 25 years, when he took an early retirement and launched into his entrepreneurial years, culminating with a home-grown candle making business. He learned the art of superior candle making from a retired artisan in Maine. He opened "Wick-It Good Candles" in Point Pleasant in 1997 where his goal was to make his candle the best. He was an only child and was predeceased by his parents, George and Lucille Bernier. He is survived by his wife Nancy; his 3 children, Roger, Mark Christopher (Emily), Rochelle (Patrick) Fuhrman, and his 6 step-children; Michelle (Phil) Binaco, Denise (Keith) Schreefer, John (Jennifer) Tiroly, Jim (Shannon) Tiroly, David (Liz) Tiroly. He has 29 beautiful, joyful grandchildren, ranging in ages 3 years to 23 years. A Mass will be celebrated on Wed., May 25th at Sacred Heart Church in Bay Head.
